The event devoted to the essence and value of the speech of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “The Concept of the further deepening of the democratic reforms and development of a civil society in the country”

        The event devoted to the essence and value of the speech of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “The Concept of the further deepening of the democratic reforms and development of a civil society in the country”, which was held in November of the last year on the joint session of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, took place by the initiative of the Ministry of Justice at the distant territories of Vobkent and Kagan areas of the Bukhara region as well as Karmanen area and Uchkuduk city of the Navoiy region.

        Employees of the Ministry of Justice, for about 2000 students of the colleges and lyceums of the above-named areas, representatives of the mass media took part at the event.

        At the same time, special attention at the event was paid to the essence and value of the report of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “All our aspiration and programs – for the sake of the further development of the Motherland and increase of well-being of the people” at the session of the government which took place in January 21, 2011 concerning the results of social and economic development of the country in 2010 and the major priorities for 2011. Opinions and judgments of the Head of the state directed to the improvement of legal knowledge of the youth and their ability to independent thinking, perfection of colleges and lyceums’ training process, vocational counseling of the youth, job security of graduates of special, professional educational institutions were comprehensively explained.

        During the event, the basic priority directions which were  designated in the speech of the President at the joint session of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis were explained to the youth on available language.  Particularly, the special attention was paid to the essence and value of such directions as government and management democratization, reforming of judicial and legal systems, field of information, maintenance of freedom of the information and speech, as well as maintenance of the electoral right in Uzbekistan and development of the election legislation, formation and development of the institutes of civil society, the further deepening of liberalization of market reforms and economy.

        The youth was very interested in special presentation of the report
of the Head of the country prepared by the coordinators of the event that served the further improvement of their knowledge under the concept.

        In addition, the experts gave the details on information about the legal and organizational measures, planned in the concept with a view of reforming of the judicial and legal systems. In particular, the rapid development of the society on the ways of democracy and success of the reforms carried out in this direction specially depends on the level of legal culture of our citizens. Thereupon, the improvement of legal literacy of citizens should become an important aim of the society.

        The special attention of the youth was turned to the Decree of the President of the Republic Uzbekistan about the State program “The year of small business and private entrepreneurship”.

        During the conversation, the youth was provided with the information about the five projects realized by the Ministry of Justice on the improvement of the legal culture. Moreover, the special movie related to the one of such projects – republican review-competition “Young lawyers” was presented to youth. Along with it, it was told about new review-competition “Go ahead, lawyers”, that was held among the higher educational institutions specializing in the field of jurisprudence. Furthermore, the legal literature on improvement of legal education of the young men and girls was extended.

        In the end of the event, between the participants the “Experts of law” were defined, to whom memorable gifts of the Ministry of Justice were presented.

        As it was noticed, the next events of propagation groups in such direction will be with the youth of the distant areas of the Khorezm region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
